New Work City is changing the f’ing world for the better!!!
The brilliant co-working community founded by my nyc bff Tony Bacigalupo is raising money through Kickstarter to build a new home for people who can work anywhere.
The project launched this morning and they’ve already raised $1,755! Think we can break $2K by the end of the day?
So excited and proud of Tony and the NWC community!!!

My very favorite cafe in New York is bread (on spring and mott). There’s something magical and alluring about the place. The people who work there are charming and engaging, the food is delicious, and the vibe is a perfect blend of stylish and carefree. I’ll only dine there alone or with those very special to me, and every time I’m there, I experience an overwhelming amount of inspiration and creativity. It’s quite brilliant!
While dining there this afternoon with Tatiana, our lovely waiter Cacho Falcon approached the table and his shirt immediately captivated our attention. We both commented on our love for his shirt and particularly its message. Some minutes later, he returned to the table wearing a new shirt. In his hand was the old shirt, which he gave to Tat as a gift. (How unexpected and lovely!)

It turns out that all the art on the walls of bread (the art I’ve found myself getting lost in and captivated by, in all of my previous visits) is art he created. Amazing!

“Betaworks had a track record in this field back when no one had a track record in this field.”
In the two years since then, Betaworks has become prominent in New York technology circles for helping entrepreneurs fine-tune and expand their companies. The company has guided some entrepreneurs to lucrative sales and helped others raise cash from notable New York and Silicon Valley investment firms.
goodbye April, hello May: an excerpt from my New York journal
As I sit here now, crouched against a stable wall on the roof deck of my building, feeling so still and so calm, I write in complete darkness. The city lights elicit just enough brightness to see the traction of pen ink against my moleskin pages. I look up at the waning moon and feel this deep sense of satisfaction and peace inside. It’s amazing how quiet New York is, if you want it to be.

New York is an amazing city in which passion, energy and ideas incessantly flow. It’s easy to see how one might get caught up in the fast, best, here and now. It’s a city of hustle and chaos in the best and most beautifully dangerous ways.

When I decided to move to New York, several of my closest friends felt concerned that this city would “change me.”
“Please stay sweet … please never stop caring,” they said.
“Me?!… change?!” I thought to myself… “that’s impossible!”
Ironically, since moving here, change I have seen… good change.
With chaos, I find calm. With excess, I gravitate toward that which is simple and easy. Immersed in a city of extremes, I find myself frequently stopping to ask myself what it is I want and where I want to be.
It’s crazy how alone you can feel in a sea of unstoppable energy. But it’s actually quite poetic…
The possibilities and novelties of life are endless. With so much to do and see, I find myself stepping back and pausing… I find myself taking time to sit still and watch the world spin.
Moments of stillness, I’ve found, are often the most enriching and energizing.
It’s official: awesome people are changing the world in the wee hours of the night

as written on msg’s bathroom wall last November, “a real city” is when my dream of New York started to unfold.
amit’s comment on the photo triggered us getting together in San Francisco. two months later, a chat with amit gave me the last push I needed to go, do and make the dream happen.
crazy how life happens.
